2025 Golden Globe Winners Predictions
The Globes are on Sunday at 7 pm central on CBS. Below are my predictions!
Best Motion Picture Drama:
The Brutalist
Nickel Boys
A Complete Unknown
Conclave
Dune: Part Two
September 5
Conclave seems to be a very well like movie. I suspect it wins here unless the Globes decide to go real prestige and award The Brutalist. I suspect The Brutalist is either winning 6 globes or nothing. Unfortunately I believe that latter.
Best Motion Picture Comedy or Musical:
Anora
A Real Pain
Challengers
Emilia Perez
The Substance
Wicked
The Globes are either going all the way with Wicked or Emilia Perez. I’m picking Wicked but don’t be surprised if Emilia Perez is the film that wins like four Globes.
Best Actor Drama:
Adrien Brody for The Brutalist
Colman Domingo for Sing Sing
Daniel Craig for Queer
Sebastian Stan for The Apprentice
Ralph Fiennes for Conclave
Timothee Chalamet for A Complete Unknown
This is a tough one. I could see multiple guys in this category winning. However, the Globes love their stars and Timothee is impressive as Bob Dylan.
Best Actor Comedy or Musical:
Gabriel LaBelle for Saturday Night
Glen Powell for Hit Man
Jesse Eisenberg for A Real Pain
Jesse Plemons for Kinds of Kindness
Hugh Grant for Heretic
Sebastian Stan for A Different Man
Another one I am not sure of. I think with as much campaigning as he has done I think Jesse will win this. But double nominee Sebastian could win here.
Best Actress Drama:
Angelina Jolie for Maria
Kate Winslet for Lee
Pamela Anderson for The Last Showgirl
Nicole Kidman for Babygirl
Fernanda Torres for I’m Still Here
Tilda Swinton for The Room Next Door
Again, the Globes love their stars. I’m picking Nicole to win here. Maybe Angelina could play spoiler?
Best Actress Comedy or Musical:
Amy Adams - Nightbitch
Cynthia Erivo – Wicked
Demi Moore – The Substance
Karla Sofia Gascon – Emilia Perez
Mikey Madison – Anora
Zendaya – Challengers
I think Mikey Madison is the front-runner in Best Actress and her run starts here. However, Cynthia could win with the love for Wicked. Alternatively, maybe Karla wins if they do the Emilia Perez train. Or Amy Adams wins because again, they love their stars.
Supporting Actor:
Yura Borisov for Anora
Denzel Washington for Gladiator II
Guy Pierce for The Brutalist
Edward Norton for A Complete Unknown
Kieran Culkin for A Real Pain
Jeremy Strong for The Apprentice
Kieran is the one performance of this award season that could sweep everywhere. I think it starts here.
Supporting Actress:
Ariana Grande for Wicked
Felicity Jones for The Brutalist
Isabella Rossellini for Conclave
Margaret Qualley for The Substance
Selena Gomez for Emilia Perez
Zoe Saldana for Emilia Perez
All aboard the Wicked train. Zoe could win here as well.
Best Director:
Brady Corbet for The Brutalist
Jacques Audiard for Emilia Perez
Edward Berger for Conclave
Coralie Fargeat for The Substance
Sean Baker for Anora
Payal Kapadia for All We Imagine As Light
I’m guessing the impressiveness of The Brutalist will get Brady the award. I could also see Jacques or Berger.
Best Screenplay:
Anora by Sean Baker
A Real Pain by Jesse Eisenberg
The Brutalist by Brady Corbet, Mona Fastvold
Conclave by Peter Straughan
The Substance by Coralie Fargeat
Jacques Audiard by Emilia Perez
Maybe wishful thinking but I think this is where Anora gets rewarded.
Best Score:
The Brutalist – Daniel Blumberg
Challengers – Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross
Conclave – Volker Bertelmann
Dune: Part Two – Hans Zimmer
Emilia Perez – Clement Ducol, Camille
The Wild Robot – Kris Bowers
Reznor and Ross’s score is some of their best work, maybe since The Social Network.
Best Song:
Emilia Perez – “Mi Camino”
Emilia Perez – “El Mal”
Challengers - “Compress/Repress”
Better Man – “Forbidden Road”
The Wild Robot – “Kiss the Sky”
The Last Showgirl – “Beautiful That Way”
Honestly, I have no clue. Emilia Perez has two songs here, which usually means one of them is winning, and one probably will. However, I can’t recall either of those songs (A problem with the film) So I’ll go with “Kiss the Sky”.
Best Animated Feature:
Flow
Inside Out
Memoir of a Snail
Moana 2
Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl
The Wild Robot
I’m probably wishful thinking with Flow. The Wild Robot will most likely win.
Best Non-English Language Feature:
All We Imagine as Light
The Girl with the Needle
Emilia Perez
I’m Still Here
The Seed of the Sacred Fig
Vermiglio
SinceEmilia Perezwas nominated everywhere it’ll likely win here.
