Review of B&B Mainstreet Theater

Location: Kansas City, MO

Date of Visit: December 25, 2024

Movie Seen: Nosferatu (2024)

Price: $47.50 for two people

two movie tickets were $27 for a midday Christmas Day showing.

A large popcorn and soda combo at all B&B theaters is $20.

Cleanliness: The theater was clean enough, not bad enough to complain but not clean enough to praise.

Comfy-Ness: The theaters downstairs are cozy. This theater used to be an Alamo Drafthouse. No longer a dine-in, there is a bar built into the lobby where you can get drinks. So, no ordering from your seat.

The issue with the structure of this theater is that the seats in front of you are tall enough that people's heads cut off the bottom of the screen. Made it difficult to read the subtitles.

In addition, the seats were narrow and it was hard to keep my legs on the footrest. I am 6’ 2” 240, so some people may not have this problem, but it was easier to put my feet on the floor and not recline.

Food Quality: The popcorn was tasty; again, a constant in the B&B Theaters is the quality of their popcorn. However, the other constant was the Coca-Cola freestyle machine being out of or low on syrup, so the soda was no good.

Overall 11/20.

Spoiler for the next theater, but this and Lee’s Summit 16 have the same score. However, that theater gets the edge because of the screen being cut off and the narrow seats.
