Ranking Every Movie Theater in Kansas City
Have you ever wondered what the best movie theater in the great city of Kansas City is? Probably not, but I did. So, I took it upon myself to visit every movie theater within the greater Kansas City area and watch a movie with popcorn and soda to compare them all.
Now, I had to put some parameters in place. First, the distance. Because of distance, there are theaters I did not venture to; I had to cut it off somewhere. I chose 30 miles from my place of work, near Crown Center in downtown Kansas City, MO.
So, Harrisonville, Lexington, and Leavenworth, though in the greater Kansas City area, I did not include in this list.
I was going to include the Tivoli and Stray Cat theaters, but since they are one-offs and do not show “new” releases I didn’t think it was fair to rate them against the other theaters.
I graded out a total score of twenty. Four categories with a possible 5 points, a total score out of 20. Price, Cleanliness, Comfy-ness, and quality of food (popcorn). Popcorn is a universal food across all theaters, making a good comparison of food, price, and taste.

How this will go is every day, I will be publishing a review of one of the 22 movie theaters above. They will be published in rank order, starting with the bottom and working my way to the top. Then, I will have a post-write-up showing the full ranking.
I’ll also rank the movies I watched for this project. This was a fun project that got me to movie theaters and viewing experiences I never would have gone to/seen otherwise.
