Review of AMC Barrywoods 24 Theater

Price: $50.08 for two people

Two tickets for a Saturday Morning Showing in their Prime AMC theater is $33.58.

A regular popcorn and soda at all AMCs is $16.50

Cleanliness: This theater is always clean. It's probably the best-taken care of AMC theater in the area. At least when was when I frequented this theater when I lived downtown in 2014. Now the theater is still in good condition but it’s starting to feel old. Compared to other AMCs that have had facelifts.

Comfy-Ness: Went to see the movie in Prime at AMC (The only prime screen in the KC area). The prime screen projector was broken, we were given the choice of a refund or tickets to another showing and free tickets for another visit. We went to another showing starting 10 minutes from that moment.

The Prime seating was nice and comfortable in new seats. Would’ve been delightful to watch the movie in these seats.

However, The Theater we watched the movie in was older and not updated. I’m talking ancient. Those seats were stiff and very old. I was stiff when I left the theater. The older theater smelled of incense and a bit of mustiness.

Food Quality: I was disappointed by the food. At the first showing of the day, I expected the popcorn to be fresh; however, it tasted like it had been sitting since yesterday. They have freestyle Coca-Cola machines, and the Pibb was tasty.

If you like Icee's they have 15 different types you can choose from, that’s something at least.

Overall 13/20.

This was my favorite theater when I lived downtown. It has seen better days. I know sometimes things are out of your control, but when the projector doesn’t work, the other theater is uncomfortable, the popcorn isn’t good, it’s hard to redeem.

I was surprised by this one, I had high expectations.
