Review of AMC Town Center 20 Theater

Location: Leawood, KS

Date of Visit: July 18, 2024

Movie Seen: Twisters

Price: $57.94 for two people

Two tickets for a Thursday evening new release in their Dolby Theater is $41.44. The Dolby may be pricey here but for certain films, it is well worth it to see it in this format.

A regular popcorn and soda at all AMCs is $16.50.

Cleanliness: This Theater is always clean, always presentable, and never sticky. The bathrooms are always clean and in working order.

Comfy-Ness: This was the perfect movie to see in Dolby. The loud surround sound made you feel like you were in the action, facing the tornado. The Dolby cinema has nice new updated comfortable large seating.

Most of their other theaters are older and could use updated seating like other recently renovated AMCs in the area. This used to feel like the nice new theater and the seats now feel old. Not uncomfortable, but it’s the one thing preventing a perfect 20 on my scoring system.

Food Quality: Multiple Freestyle Coca-Cola machines, always with syrup and carbonation. The popcorn here is always good. I don’t always get popcorn at the movies, but anytime I do here it’s always great.

Overall 19/20.

This is by far my favorite and I believe best movie theater in Kansas City. Everything is a high standard, the only change I’d make is getting updated seats. Town Center has lots of places to go before and after the movie.

Madison and I like to go to a morning movie and lunch at Shake Shack.

I also love the variety of movies they show. They have all the new releases but they also will get those foreign films and art house films that are usually only shown at Glenwood or Screenland. It’s the perfect theater for casual moviegoers and cinephiles alike.

That’s the last theater! All 22, I will have a wrap-up write-up, so look out for that!
